La Restinga Lagoon
La Restinga lagoon was declared a National Park in 1974 being from that date an Inparques responsibility. The famous La Restinga Lagoon is made up of more than 2,300 hectares consisting of water canals and mangroves that naturally protect a characteristic flora and fauna of these habitats. That is why we find many birds, sea stars and oysters by the thousands nested in the roots of the mangroves that are protected by a strip of sand or coral sandbar through over 27 kilometers that today makes up La Restinga beach.

Visitors of La Restinga Lagoon will be able to take a boat ride through mangrove channels on a boat with special features to not damage or alter the nature. Said ride lasts about 30 to 45 minutes where the boatman will be telling you about the Lagoon and you’ll be seeing posters with names that have been given to the different channels such as the tunnel of love. If you visit the Lagoon and make the ride ask to see the starfish and that get as close as possible to the mangroves so you can see the oysters.
As additional information we say that in the main pier you can eat empanadas and then board the boat without any issue because they are flat waters. We also inform that the ride has a very affordable cost.
We let some pictures and a video to encourage you to visit this National Park. Don’t forget to share them with your friends if they are to their liking.
