Whenever you travel to the island, it will be advisable to have in hand a map of Margarita to facilitate the movement to those places you wish to see. In this post, we have published three maps of Margarita Island so you can locate hotels, beaches and tourist sites that we have recommended in our blog.
First we want to emphasize that the Margarita Island is one of the three islands that comprise the Nueva Esparta State is located in the north east of Venezuela in the Caribbean Sea. The other two islands are the Coche Island and Cubagua. The state capital is La Asuncion, where we will find some tourist sites but is not where the hotels and the beaches are located.
To better describe Margarita Island so that you can better understand it geographically, we can say that is divided into two large mountain ranges that are linked by a coral barrier island or sandbar. We have the Eastern Massif (East) and West (West). In the Eastern Massif (East) it is where we’ll move us because it is where we’ll find 98 percent of the places that interest us for effect of our vacations. (See map of Margarita on the left)
South-east of the island you’ll find the cities of Porlamar and Pampatar, in the center The Capital called La Asuncion and Northeast Juan Griego, these being the four major cities of the Margarita island. In regard to the most visited beaches we can place them in the entire coastal belt in the East and Northeast. Below you will find three maps of Margarita where you can see where the sites are located.
